Esther Duerfeldt, 98, of Falls City, NE, passed away June 6, 2022 at Falls City. She was born May 21, 1924 at Straussville, NE to Herman and Elizabeth (Strauss) Mez.

She married Elmer Duerfeldt on October 8, 1944 at Falls City. He passed away January 23, 2006.

Esther was raised at Straussville and graduated Falls City High School in 1942. When married the couple made their home on a farm in the Barada area where she was a homemaker and farm wife.  She lived on the farm until becoming a resident of Falls City Nursing and Rehab in 2019.  She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.

Esther is survived by her son, Dale and his wife Carol of Falls City, daughters, Carol Hamilton and Vera Ploeger both of Falls City, Judy Burgett and her husband Randy of Humboldt, NE, twelve grandchildren and one step-grandchild,

twenty great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, husband and a grandson, Matthew Duerfeldt

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Mike Wolfram officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.
