Ralph Leroy Bottom, 97, of Holton, KS, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, KS. He was born August 20, 1924 in the Buck’s Grove area (Jackson County, KS), the son of Roy L. and Eva M. (Kroth) Bottom.

Ralph spent most of his life in the Havensville area and moved to Holton in 2010. He was a farmer and stockman. Ralph worked for Goodyear Tire Company for 30 years, retiring in 1983.

He married Isla Jean Figge on May 20, 1946 in Duluth, KS. She preceded in him in death on June 21, 2016, after 70 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Eva Bottom; 3 sisters, Lorah May Wyatt, Goldie Krebs and Wilma Ross and 2 brothers, Vern and Albert Bottom.

Survivors include a son, Ralph “Eugene” Bottom (Linda) of Meriden, KS; 3 daughters, Charlene K. Reynolds (Garold) of Topeka, KS, Darlene F. Boeding (Joe) of Topeka, KS and Linda A. Bottom of Lincoln, NE; sister, Betty Smith of Beattie, KS; brother, Gene Bottom of Inman, KS; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Ralph’s wishes were to be cremated. Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service. Inurnment will follow to the Buck’s Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Jackson County Friends of Hospice, Buck’s Grove United Methodist Church or Terry C.
