Herbert Joe "Keosaahduc" Whitebird, 10, of the Kickapoo Reservation, passed away on April 5, 2022 in an automobile accident near Powhattan, Kansas.

Herbert Joe was born in Topeka, KS to Darliss Whitebird on July 10, 2011. He has 5 siblings; Marcella Potts, Timothy Potts, Gracie Whitebird, Ralph Simon and Angelina Simon. Numerous Aunties and Uncles. And 32 cousins who he all loved. The man who Herbert knew as his father, Jeremy Simon also survives the home.

Herbie Joe had the biggest smile and had a good funny sense of humor. He attended Hiawatha Middle School and was involved in many sports. Herbs was a big loving, caring, big hearted son, brother, cousin and nephew who will be tremendously missed and forever loved.

A viewing open to the public will be held at Dishon Maple Chaney Mortuary in Horton, KS on Friday April 8, 2022. The viewing where friends and family can meet will be held from 10am to 12:00. A private family service will be held at sundown at Harvey Ross Sr residence, on the Kickapoo Reservation followed by a wake. Burial will be Saturday morning 8am at the Kennekuk Cemetery.
