Shannon Louise Scott
Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton

Shannon Louise Scott, 65, of Everest, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at the Amber Health Hiawatha Hospital.

She was born on April 30, 1956 in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of Patrick and Patricia Callahan Moore. After graduating from high school she attended Kansas University for three years and then later she received her Associates Degree from Barton County Community College. She served with the U.S. Army.

Shannon worked as an editor for the Horton Headlight, Gaskell Machine but she enjoyed being a paramedic and EMT the most of all, working for the Horton EMS for years and the Town & Country EMS. She was a lifetime member of the Everest American Legion and the Everest Fire Department.

On August 6, 1977 she married Mark Scott in Horton, Kansas.

Survivors include her husband, Mark Scott of the home, Everest, Kansas; mother, Patricia Callahan Moore of Horton, Kansas; two sons, Corey (Pam) Scott of Everest, Kansas and Cody Scott of Everest, Kansas; two grandchildren, Haley and Patrick Scott. She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, November 22, 2021 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas with burial to follow at the Kimberlin Cemetery northeast of Everest, Kansas.

The family will greet friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 3:30 P.M. at the mortuary.
