Marjorie “Marge” Dettman, 89, of Falls City, NE, passed away April 8, 2020 at Falls City. She was born January 31, 1931 at Falls City to Emmit and Ella (Hunker) Fisher.

She married Loy Dettman on April 12, 1959 at Falls City. He passed away January 15, 2012

Marge was raised in rural Rulo, NE and graduated Falls City High School in 1948. Following graduation she worked at Hested’s for several years. When married the couple established their home on a farm northwest of Stella. She spent many hours working on the farm and helping Loy milk cows and also did custom harvesting and hay bailing. She enjoyed gardening and canning. Up until her later years she remembered many people on their birthdays with a card, Loy never went a day without a homemade pie in the refrigerator. She made many batches of homemade ice cream with the fresh cream from their dairy. She attended Stella Community Church.

Marge is survived by her daughters, Judy Ivey and her husband Bob of Falls City, Kristy Fischer of Stella, NE, grandchildren, Lindsay (Trent) Holscher of Ogallala, Lacey (Cody) Guthals of Falls City, Brooks Ivey of Lamoni, IA, great-grandchildren. Dylan and Wyatt Holscher and Watson Guthals. She was preceded in death by her her parents, husband, brothers, Robert and Lester Fisher, sisters, Helen Ruth, Dorothy and Betty Jean all in infancy.

Private graveside service will be held on Monday, April 13, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Steele Cemetery with Pastor Mike Hader officiating.

Friends may view and sign the guest register at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home, please bring your own pen for sanitary purposes and keep a safe distance away from others.

Viewing will begin Saturday afternoon until 5:00 PM and on Sunday from noon to 5:00 PM.
