Elena Poe Dodge, 65, of Jacksonville, Florida, died on Sunday, February 2nd, 2020 at the Santa Cecilia Medical Center, Iba, Republic of the Philippines.  

She was born March 28th, 1954 in Quezon City Philippines to Arsenio and Alejandra Pagaduan.  

She married Allen E. Dodge on December 5th, 2003. Elena is survived by her husband, Allen Dodge and daughter, Allyson Poe of Jacksonville, Florida; mother, Alejandra Cruz Pagaduan of San Juan, Zambales, Philippines; stepchildren, Ben Dodge and Chrystal Caylor of Horton, Kansas; sister, Marita C. Bell of Chula Vista, California; brothers, Antonio Pagaduan of San Juan, Zambales, Philippines; Rolando Pagaduan of Elk Grove, California; nieces, Carren Bell-Recasas of Chula Vista, California; Kristel Pagaduan of Elk Grove, California; nephews, Joseph Bell of Chula Vista, California; RJ Pagaduan of Elk Grove, California.  Elena also had multiple cousins.

Elena was preceded in death by her father, Arsenio, brother, Juan, and sister, Estella.

Elena was a longtime resident of the United States, arriving in 1977 where she lived and traveled throughout the country.  She was a recognized expert on U.S. Navy Uniform Regulations and Insignia, working for many years as a Naval Uniform Specialist for the Navy Exchange. Elena’s love for cooking and business management provided her with the opportunity to purchase her Filipino food and merchandise store in Corpus Christi, Texas.  This highly successful venture opened in 1991 and operated for over 17 years.  She also loved investing, bingo, casinos, foreign and domestic travels, her daughter, family and friends.  Her greatest travel adventures were with her husband, Allen, and daughter, Allyson, while living abroad in Yokohama Japan.

Visitation is from 4:00-6:00 PM on Sunday, February 23rd, 2020, at the Dishon Maple- Chaney Funeral Home in Horton, Kansas. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 24th, 2020, at St Leo’s Catholic Church, Father Daniel L. Gardner, presiding.  Burial shall follow upon conclusion of Mass at the Horton Cemetery. Family members wish to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their prayers and attendance during this celebration of life for Elena Poe Dodge.
