Alan McQueen

Alan J. McQueen, 65 of Falls City, NE, passed away on February 17, 2020, at Madonna Rehabilitation in Lincoln, NE. He was born November 27, 1954 at Sabetha, Ks to the late Robert R. and Joyce E. McQueen.

Alan graduated from Sabetha High School in 1972, He married Carol Nickelson, they had two children and were later divorced.  Alan enlisted in the Air Force 7-18-1973 and was discharged 7-24-1981. While in the Air Force he earned Good Conduct Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Commendation Medal, NCO Professional Education Ribbon, Longevity Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, and National Defense Service Medal. He was an Electronic Mechanical Communications and Cryptographic Equipment Technician. He was discharged as a Staff Sargent. After leaving the Air Force he worked in Lincoln and later moved to Falls City and worked part time at the Falls City Nursing Home. He retired due to health and remained in Falls City until his death.

He was member of Sts. Peter and Paul Parrish in Falls City, a member of Knights of Columbus #1336, and   was a ham radio operator and belonged to the radio club in Hiawatha, KS.

Alan is survived by a daughter Heather McQueen of Chicago, IL, and a son Robert and wife Olivia of New York and their children, daughter Lilly and son Oliver. He is also survived by a sister Nancy Kommer and husband Peter of LaVista, NE, brothers, Barry and wife Rita of Lawrence, KS, Jay and wife Martha of Dodge City, KS, and Jon and his wife Teresa of Falls City, NE, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and nephews Steven Kommer and Travis McQueen.

A funeral mass will be held on February 22, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Rulo, NE. with Father David Oldham as the presiding priest. Interment will be in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Rulo NE. Military graveside services by the Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.

A parish rosary will be held on February 21, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with visitation to follow. Dorr and Clark funeral home Falls City, NE. in charge of arraignments.
