Merinda Ann (Mindy) Oaks passed away peacefully on February 4, 2019 at Midland Hospice in Topeka after a short battle with cancer.

She was born May 18, 1977 in Hiawatha, KS to William (Bill) and Rebecca (Becky) Ferry-Torres Oaks of Horton.

She married Rick Neidfelt of Emmett. He survives.

Other survivors include her mother Rebecca Colhour and husband Randy, Salina, two daughters Hailey and Kaitlyn Schwanz, Topeka, step-mother Penny Carlson, Topeka, brother Faron Moore and wife Brook, Topeka, grandmother Helen Moore, Topeka, maternal grandparents Ray and Irene Ferry-Torres, Hiawatha and an aunt Elizabeth Mellies and husband Arthur, Netawaka.

She was proceeded in death by her father William Oaks, grandparents John and Hazel (Laurie) Oaks, and her cousin Daniel Worthington, Netawaka.

Cremation is planned. Celebration of life services will be held from 12:30-2:30 Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Shawnee North Community Center in Topeka.  Ms. Oaks will be buried with her father in a private family service at the Netawaka Cemetery.
