Carol June "Ke-Wada-No-Quah" Yazzie, 65, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at her home, on the Kickapoo Reservation.

She was born on March 3, 1953 in Horton, Kansas the daughter of Leonard McKinney and Melvina Mjessepe Banks. Carol graduated from Riverside Indian School in Anadarko, Oklahoma and from Northeast Kansas Vo-Tech in Atchison, Kansas with a LPN nursing degree. She worked as a LPN nurse in the Topeka and Lawrence, Kansas areas for many years, before retiring.

She was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomie Tribe and the Native American Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Valarie Yazzie of Topeka, Kansas, Crystal Wakolee of Topeka, Kansas and Gloria Yazzie of Horton, Kansas; three brothers, Michael McKinney of Topeka, Kansas, Murray "Willie" Banks of Horton, Kansas and Jason "Zeke" Banks of Hiawatha, Kansas; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, Larry McKinney, Norris McKinney, Gerald McKinney, Joseph McKinney, Narcissus "Doc" Banks and Maurice Banks.

Native American Church services will be at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Wayne Jessepe's home on the Kickapoo Reservation. Burial will be at 9:00 A.M. on Friday morning at the Mason Cemetery on the Kickapoo Reservation.  A special message may be sent to the family at www.dishon-maple-chaney.com
