Justin Arthur Smith, 42, of Centralia, Kansas passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017, from complications from a motorcycle accident.

He was born July 30, 1974, in Onaga, Kansas, the son of Terry E. Smith and Dreda A. (White) Smith.

Justin graduated in 1992 from Centralia High School.  He completed the Diesel Technology program from the ICS Learning Systems, the Farrier Science program at Pikes Peak Community College, as well as several mechanical programs through the Army.  He joined the U.S. Army in April of 1993, honorably discharged in 2000. He was part of the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne).   He served two terms in Bosnia during his time in the Army.  While in the service he was awarded the NATO Medal for Service with NATO on Operations in Relation to the Former Yugoslavia, two Good Conduct Medals, and the Meritorious Service Medal upon discharge.  Justin was a disable veteran, and was always proud of his service.

Justin was an avid outdoorsman and turned his love of the outdoors into his career. He was a Guide for Broken Arrow Outfitters, guiding hunts in Kansas, Nebraska and Texas. Justin was always one to look for adventure whether it be on land or water. He spent countless hours riding his Harley-Davidson and finding ways to get out on the water, either to take time fishing and just enjoying time with family and friends.

Justin married Judy Mosson on August 26, 1994, in Colorado Springs, Colorado; they later divorced.

Surviving are his daughters, Meagan Smith and Jocelyn Smith both of Westmoreland; parents, Terry and Dreda (White) Smith of Centralia; a brother, Jonas Smith and wife Ashley of Waterville; sisters, Jessica Schneider and husband Shawn of Frankfort and Janell Crotinger and husband Kerry of Topeka; Maternal Grandmother, Elaine White of Centralia; five aunts and uncles; and eight nieces and four nephews.

Justin will lie in state at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 6 to 8 P.M. where family will receive friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday, May 26, 2017, at the Community East Church in Centralia.

Interment will follow in the Centralia Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors.
