Wayne W. “Skip” Wood, 71, Bendena, KS, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

A memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Community of Christ Church at Fanning, KS, with Rev. Don Harter officiating.  Family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church.  

Memorials are suggested to Community of Christ Church, Alzheimer’s Association or NEK Hospice and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, who is handling the arrangements.  Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.

Skip was born on July 4, 1945 in Atchison, KS the son of Woodrow and Dorothy (Grable) Wood.  He graduated from Troy High School.  Skip was a truck driver for Yellow Freight.  He was a member of the Community of Christ and the NRA.  Skip enjoyed rebuilding motorcycles, woodworking, refinishing furniture, hunting and being down on his farm.

Wayne W. “Skip” married Sharon Christenson on December 23, 1966, she survives of the home.  Additional survivors include a sister Judy Sandy, Atchison, KS and numerous sister and brother in laws, nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and their son Eric Wood.
