Ernest A. Werner, 95, of Falls City, NE passed away January 17, 2017 at Falls City. He was born to the late Ernest and Anna (Tubach) Werner.

He was in the U.S. Army from August 20, 1942 to February 20 1945.

He married Thelma McCann on January 21, 1946 at Hiawatha, KS. She later passed away on March 31, 1997.

Ernest was raised at Falls City and graduated Falls City High School in 1939. After high school he enlisted into the Army, upon discharge he returned to Falls City and worked on the family farm. When married the couple established their home on the family farm which was five miles northeast of Falls City. He farmed his entire life until retiring in the early 1980’s. Following retirement they would travel to Texas in the winters and then back to Falls City for the summers. He delivered propane for Heetco Inc. for many years. He enjoyed selling antiques and making his tramp art by the name Ho Bo Ernie.

Ernest is survived by daughters, Janet Trompke and her husband Larry of Lewellen, NE; Joyce Lyons and her husband Dave of Falls City; son, Steven Werner and his wife Wilma of Stella, NE; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-greatchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister, Gertrude Freeby.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 10:00 A.M at the Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Weinert officiating. Inurnment will be at Steele Cemetery.

Family will receive friends one hour before the service.
