Rita Mosher, 79, Atchison, Kansas, died Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Olathe Hospice House.

Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Benedict’s Church with Rev. Jeremy Heppler, OSB as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A parish rosary will be recited on Tuesday, Aug. 30, at 6:30 PM at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions are suggested to Atchison Catholic Charities or St. Benedict Parish and may be left in care of the funeral home. Rita was born August 6, 1937 in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of Joseph and Rose Severin Prohaska. She attended Doniphan Grade School, graduated from Mount St. Scholastica Academy and then graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in 1955.

She went to work as a Registered Nurse at the Atchison Hospital where she worked for over forty years until her retirement.

She and Max H. Mosher were married February 27, 1960 at St. Benedict’s Church in Atchison. Mr. Mosher preceded her in death on March 24, 2010.

Rita was a member of St. Benedict Parish.

Survivors include a son, David Mosher, Atchison, KS; a daughter, Julia (Mark) Feldkamp, Olathe, KS; two brothers, Raymond Prohaska, Atchison, KS; Bill Prohaska, address unknown; four sisters, Margie Hayslett, Emporia, KS; Mary Raymer, Independence, MO; Katherine Niles, Ft. Dodge, IA; Lois Jean Gardner, Kennewick, WA, and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Mosher; three brothers, Fritz Prohaska, John Prohaska, Tom Prohaska and a sister, Rose Marie Schletzbaum.
