James Hanrahan
Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton
Muscotah, KS

James L. Hanrahan, 77, of Muscotah, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at his home.

James was born on March 7, 1939 in Kansas City, Kansas the son of Thomas & Fern (McDaniel) Hanrahan.

Jim was a roofer for many years with Hanrahan Brothers Roofing and Goodyear Roofing. He owned the Chat N Nibble Café and the Muscotah Machine & Welding Shop in Muscotah, Kansas. He also worked for White Cloud Grain for 20 years before retiring. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Fairview, Kansas and the Roofer's Local #20 Union. He also had served on the Muscotah City Council.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Hanrahan of the home, Muscotah, Kansas; daughter, Cathy (Robert) Kennedy of Elko, Nevada; two sons, Jamie (Lori) Hanrahan of Tuttle, Oklahoma and Steven Clarkson of Leavenworth, Kansas; step son, Jon Middendorf of St. Joseph, Missouri; brother, Gary Hanrahan of Horton, Kansas; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Shelly Hanrahan and five brothers.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. Burial will be at the Muscotah Cemetery.
