Dennis L. Bauman

 Dennis L. Bauman, Sr., 80, of Falls City, NE, passed away October 6, 2015 at Falls City. He was born July 10, 1935 northeast of Falls City to the late William and Violet (Cochran) Bauman.

He served in the U. S. Army from 1957 until being honorably discharged in 1959.

On November 28, 1959 he married Linda Thomas at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She passed away May 7, 2015.

Dennis was raised at Arago and following his schooling at Arago and Fargo he started farming with Clarence Bauman before enlisting in the U. S. Army. When he was discharged the couple married and established their home in Kansas City where he worked construction with his brother, Vincent. They moved back to Falls City in 1964 to farm with Clarence full time. They moved into the present family home in 1967 and he lived there until 2014 when he moved into Falls City Health Care Community. He retired from farming in 2009. He loved to farm, go deer, coon and coyote hunting and made homemade wine. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Arago, NE

Dennis is survived by his sons, Dennis, Jr. and his wife Stephanie, Mark and his wife Jenny, Jim and special friend Cindy Campbell all of Falls City, daughters, Terri Messner and her husband Carl, Angie Bauman and special friend Kevin Sopoci all of Falls City, sisters, Evelyn Bast of Surprise, AZ, Joan Wilson of Lexington Park, MD, fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Lawrence, Jerry, Richard and Vincent, sisters, Mary Ann Koerner, Delores Gatschenberger and a granddaughter, Jessica Cook.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Rulo with Father David Oldham officiating. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.

A Parish Rosary will be recited on Thursday at 7:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the rosary.
