Karen Joy Martin, 67, of Atchison KS died Monday, July 6th, 2015 at the Atchison Hospital.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Friday, July 10th, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison.  The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 9th, 2015 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Karen Buddenbohm was born on October 26th, 1947 in Atchison KS the daughter of Ted and Alice (Dobbs) Buddenbohm.  She graduated from Trinity Lutheran Grade School and then from Atchison High School in 1964.  She received her certificate of Dietary Management later in life.  Karen worked as a dietary manager for the Atchison Hospital for over forty years. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Priscilla Guild and Adult Bible Class. Karen enjoyed reading and especially her grandchildren and family.  

She was married to Arthur “Allen” Martin on October 2, 1965.  He survives of the home.  Additional survivors include two sons; Chris (Sunshine) Martin, Leavenworth, KS., and Jeff (Leah) Martin, Lancaster, KS., a daughter, Julie (Tom) Wilson, Atchison KS., a step sister, Charlene Lewis, Kansas City, KS., Eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.  Her parents and three sisters preceded her in death.
