Jean Dougherty 90, of Lincoln, Nebraska formerly of Burchard, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015 in Lincoln, Nebraska.  She was born on June 11, 1925 to Jesse Henry and Grace (Hylton) Korber in Harveyville, Kansas.

Jean moved with her family to Pawnee City, Nebraska in 1927.

Jean married Harold Dougherty on February 9, 1945 in Burchard, Nebraska. They then made their home in Burchard, Nebraska. To this union 11 children were born. 

Jean was a housewife and her and Harold owned the Bed and Breakfast in Burchard, Nebraska.

Jean was a member of Sacred Heart Parish since 1950.  She was also a member of the Legion Auxillary.

She played the organ for 50 years at the church.  She loved to fish she was a great cook especially cinnamon rolls, loved crossword puzzles and also jigsaw puzzles. Jean and Harold loved getting together with the neighbors to play cards.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, parents Jesse & Grace Korber, two infant sons, Michael and James Dougherty, daughter Joyce Adams, son0in-law, Dave Michel, sister Maxine Pierce, brother Jesse Korber.

She is survived by her children, Mary Michel of Lincoln, NE, David (Marlyn) Dougherty of Saipan, Ann Gardner of Seguin, TX, Elaine Dockweiler of Fremont, NE, Jerry (Sung) of Omaha, AK, Mark (Carmen) of Seguin, TX, Lorie (Curt) Beeson of Omaha, NE, Julie (Tom) O’Brien of San Antonia, TX, 22 grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mass of Christian burial 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Steinauer, Nebraska.  Officiating The Reverend Father Scott M. Courtney. Visitation on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska.
