The County Farm Bureaus in southeast Nebraska’s Legislative District 1 are sponsoring a forum to give the public a chance to meet and question the candidates who are seeking to become the next District 1 State Senator.
The forum will be held Tuesday, March 20th, at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Parish Hall, on Highway 50 in rural Elk Creek.
Six candidates are vying to represent District 1 – Bruce Berhadt, Douglas Bohling, Alvin Guenther, Jerry Joy, Neal Schatz, and Dan Watermeier. All have been invited to participate.
Candidates will be allowed to make opening comments, and they will then respond to written questions from the audience.
Current District 1 State Senator Lavon Heidemann is unable to run for a third term in the legislature.
The 90-minute forum will start at 7:00 p.m. on March 20th.
