Ken Wood, Chapman, has been selected to fill the remaining two years of an at-large position on the Kansas Association of Wheat Growers Board of Directors.

The owner-operator of a cash grain farm in Dickinson County, Wood grows wheat, corn, soybeans and grain sorghum. He is the fourth generation of his family to farm in Dickinson County.
He was a graduate of the Kansas Agricultural and Rural Leadership Class II in 1995, and served on the KARL Board of Directors from 1995-2001. He is secretary of the Alida-Pearl Coop Board of Directors, and is past president of the USD 473 Chapman Board of Education.
In 2009, he was chair of the Chapman USD 473 Bond Election, which raised money for rebuilding the community's tornado-damaged schools.
"I have always been interested in the political process and believe advocacy for a cause is a noble and valuable thing to do as a member of an organization," he says.
Wood is a graduate of Kansas State University. He and his wife, Debra, have two grown children. Their son Matt, is working toward a PhD in Physics at Texas A&M. Daughter Kristin is working toward a Master's Degree in International Education at New York University.
