The rapid increase in college tuition has left many families looking for ways to lighten the financial burden that often comes with paying for higher education.
Students and parents can take advantage of financial aid options by attending College Goal Sunday this Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 at the Benedictine College Library.
Tony Tanking, "Director of Financial Aid at Benedictine College and Site Coordinator for College Goal Sunday", says volunteers will be on-hand to help students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or "FAFSA".
Students considering any type of higher education, including technical schools and community colleges, are invited to attend.
In addition, a 500-dollar scholarship will be awarded to one student in attendence.
Students and parents are asked to bring their 2011 tax returns and W-2 forms, and also all relevant pin numbers.
Once again, "College Goal Sunday" will be this Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the library on Benedictine College Campus.
