Nutrient Management Workshop

Nutrient Management Workshop to be held January 23, 2020 from 9:45 am - 2:15 pm This Workshop is geared toward helping producers better understand soil needs and efficient nutrient use.  As the farm economy becomes tighter, understanding soil fertility and nutrient needs has become critical.

   9:45 am Introductions and announcements  10:00 am Soil sampling and what nutrients to test for   - Dr. Dorivar Ruiz-Diaz, KSU Professor - Soil Fertility and Nutrient Management  10:30 am Manure Management   - Dr. Dorivar Ruiz-Diaz, KSU Professor - Soil Fertility and Nutrient Management  11:00 am Cover Crops and 4R Management to conserve soil and water quality.   - Dr. Nathan Nelson, KSU Professor - Soil Fertility and Nutrient Management   Noon  Lunch provided   1:00 pm Precision analysis - identifying “red acres” and a look at programs   to put them in the “black” increasing profitability and habitat   - Tyler Warner, District Wildlife Biologist - Ks Dept. of Wildlife, Parks & Tourism   1:30 pm Programs & Funding sources - funding options available to Producers   - NRCS/EQIP, State Cost-Share, Delaware & Middle Kansas WRAPS and KDWPT   2:00 pm Questions & Answers        Please register by January 14th, 2020 to reserve your meal.
