On October 25, 2018 at 9:00 am the Doniphan County Conservation District and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service NRCS will be signing a Memorandum of Understanding, at the Doniphan County Courthouse, for a Regional Conservation Partnership Program RCPP. The program named “Doniphan County Road and Fields Sediment Reduction RCPP” creates a new and unique partnership between the Doniphan County Conservation District, Doniphan County Commissioners-Road and Bridge D Department, and NRCS. The Doniphan County geographical area has steep slopes, loess soil a loose, rich soil and high rainfall amounts that create erosion issues that impact our county roads. The purpose of this program is to create the ability for the Conservation District, NRCS, and the Road and Bridge Department to work together on projects that will create lasting solutions to drainage and erosion issues in fields.
