Brice W. Kwiatkowski , a student at B Co, 301St Mi Bn, Fort Shafter, Hawaii and Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps cadet, has returned to the United States from studying in Indonesia as part of Cultural Understanding and Language Proficiency Training. It was his first training deployment as a cadet.
After a week-long training session at Fort Knox, Ky., the program's selected cadets are deployed to partner nations where they are immersed in the local cultures and languages.
The selected cadets spend three weeks involved in assisting with current Army missions that range from community outreach projects to teaching English to local children or host country military personnel. They are not only getting a total immersion in another culture, but are also building positive relationships and helping the people of partner nations.
Kwiatkowski is the son of Dean A. Kwiatkowski of Loup City, Neb., and Jean L. Kwiatkowski of Pawnee City, Neb.
He graduated in 2009 from Lewiston Consolidated High School, Lewiston, Neb., and earned a bachelor's degree in 2013 from Jacobs University, Bremen, Neb.
