The Kansas Department of Commerce, in partnership with the Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce and Kansas’ military installations, will host the Kansas Military Workforce Summit on May 19 in Junction City, Kansas.
Brigadier General Pat Frank and Secretary Antonio Soave will address the summit and various panelists, including community-members, business-owners, service-members, military spouses and military support specialists will participate in panel discussions.
The summit will begin at 9 a.m., with registration starting at 8:30, and will end after a networking reception that begins at 6:30 p.m. The summit will take place at the Courtyard by Marriott Junction City, located at 310 Hammons Dr., Junction City, Kansas 66441.
The summit will serve to address the various topics surrounding a service-member’s transition to civilian life and will allow transitioning soldiers, business-owners and community members the opportunity to network with one another. The summit will address the following topics:
· Military Skillset Compatibility
· Employment and Social Media
· Benefits of Employing the Military Spouse
· Setting Realistic Employment Expectations
· Transition Challenges Facing Service-Members and Employers
· Benefits of Hiring a Veteran
