(KNZA)--The former Hiawatha Chamber of Commerce treasurer convicted of embezzling funds from the organization has been arrested for allegedly violating the terms of her probation.
43-year-old Beth Mikita was arrested Tuesday by the Brown County Sheriff's Department and booked into the Brown County Jail where she’s remains on a $27,500 bond.
Brown Brown County Attorney Kevin Hill says Mikita is accused of violating the conditions of her probation by possessing methamphetamine, failing to report to her probation officer as directed and failing to report her recent arrest in Richardson County.
Mikita along with Kalen Pyle, of Hiawatha, were arrested September 12th in Richardson County on charges of felony possession of meth, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop.
In June, Mikita was placed on 12-months supervised probation on charges of felony criminal use of a financial card and felony theft.
Mikita was convicted of embezzling funds from the Hiawatha Chamber of Commercxe between August 2014 and April 2015 while serving as Chamber treasurer.
Following a hearing in July, she was ordered to pay more than $8,000 restitution.
