(KAIR)--The new enhanced neighborhood revitalization project has officially been singed into law.
That follows a Wednesday ceremony to mark the occasion, with Atchison Mayor Jack Bower, Atchison County Commission Chairman Bill Pohl and USD 409 School Board Chair Herb Gwaltney signing the document.
The extended project proposal stems from discussions out of Atchison’s Economic Development Advisory Group who wanted to expand the existing neighborhood revitalization program in early 2016 with the intent to help and growth and development in Atchison.
The new plan takes effect Oct. 15 and will expire Oct. 31, 2021.
