(KAIR)--A new tractor and mower is being purchased for the Atchison County Road and Bridge Department.
That comes following the receipt of two bids for the purchase, with one received from Kansas Equipment, of Wamego and the other provided by Heritage Tractor, of Atchison.
The bids were presented to the Atchison County Commission by Road and Bridge Superintendent Seth Howard, on Tuesday.
Following discussion regarding the options outlined in the bids, with input provided by Howard, the Commission moved forward with the purchase, approving a near $95,000 expenditure.
That will allow the County to acquire a 2015 New Holland TS6 leased returned tractor, 130 horsepower, with tiger boom mower, from Kansas Equipment. The purchase price includes the trade in of a county owned Ford Tractor.
The purchase was approved on a unanimous vote.
