(MSC News)--Repairs have been made following a water main break in the city of Horton Tuesday evening.
However, a boil water advisory remains in place for Horton along with Willis, which receives its water from Horton, until further notice.
Horton Mayor Tim Lentz says the 8-inch water main break occurred Tuesday evening around 7:00 between 3rd and 4th Avenue East in front of the Dollar General Store on 15th Street.
Lentz says crews worked through the night to make the needed repairs by 4:30 Wednesday morning, and thanked all those who helped out.
He says the line that broke is the main one that feeds the Brown County community’s water customers.
Water customers in the cities of Horton and Willis should boil the water they use for drinking and food preparation for one minute prior to use or use bottled water.
