(KNZA)--The Annual Hiawatha Maple Leaf Festival and Heritage Day celebration will take place Saturday.
The event is being put on by the Hiawatha Chamber of Commerce and Brown County Historical Society.
Vendors will be set up around the courthouse square from 9 to 3 selling a variety of goods and services.
There will also be a bounce house for kids to enjoy. In addition, “Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer” will be making an appearance at the Maple Leaf Festival. Dora will be roaming about in front of the Rainbow Communications building in 20-minute intervals from 10 to 2.
The Heritage Day celebration will include the crowning of the first annual Harvest Princess.
The historical society’s downtown museum will be open from 10 to 2 along with Jack’s Trains at 518 Oregon. In addition, there will be activities at their Ag Museum on East Iowa Street—including demonstrations, displays, wagon rides down Windmill lane, face painting for kids and food.
Shuttle rides from the downtown museum to the Ag Museum will be provided every half-hour, starting at 10:00.
