PLATTE CITY, Mo. (AP) - Prosecutors say a Florida man has been charged in Platte County with trying to bribe three Missouri State Highway Patrol officers after a traffic stop turned up drugs and a handgun in his vehicle.
Platte County prosecutor Eric Zahnd says 29-year-old Stephen Medley of Tallahassee was pulled over Friday on Interstate 29 in northern Platte County for having windows that were too darkly tinted.
Court documents say Medley told the troopers to take "all his money and just let him walk away."
Officers found nearly $2,100 in cash, about 2 pounds of marijuana, an ounce of cocaine and a loaded handgun. Zahnd says Medley gave a false name to a trooper after he was pulled over.
It wasn't clear after hours Monday if Medley had obtained an attorney.
