(KAIR)--Two separate incidents leave Atchison County authorities searching for suspect vehicles.
The first case involves a Monday morning hit and run accident at 8168 Pratt Road.
According to a report issued by Sheriff Jack Laurie, a southbound vehicle ran off the roadway to the west and went through a vinyl fence on private property. It then continued west onto property at 8138 Pratt Road where it knocked over a mailbox.
Laurie says the vehicle fled the scene, likely with significant damage.
It's believed it occurred around 8:30.
The second incident happened Monday evening when Muscotah resident Mary Schreifels was driving northbound on U.S. Highway 73, near 234th Road.
It was there that the windshield of her vehicle was broken out when struck by a cup, or container, filled with a milkshake or similar dairy-type dessert.
According to Laurie, the impact caused the windshield of her 2012 Chevy Equinox to crack, which sent broken glass particles into Schreifels' face, causing small cuts.
The container is believed to have been thrown from another vehicle that passed by her.
It's described as a smaller white or light colored passenger car.
Anyone with information about either of the two cases is urged to contact the Sheriff's Office at (913) 367-4323.
