Public Peek Inside New Jail
08/04/2016

(KLZA)--Allowing the public a look inside.

That's a key reason behind Friday's Open House at the new Richardson County Jail and Law Enforcement Center.

Sheriff Don Pounds met with the Richardson County Board of Commissioners this week, telling them that plans for the open house have been finalized.

It will happen Friday from 3 in the afternoon until 8:00 in the evening, at the new facility.

Pounds also informed the Commissioners that plans are being put in place to move the Sheriff's Office into the new facility by next week. Along with the relocation, Pounds told the county leaders that training and orientation of staff, dispatchers and jailers, will also happen next week.

Currently, it's planned to relocate inmates to the new facility around August 15th.

The new Law Enforcement Center and Jail is located on the west edge of Falls City, the site of the former National Guard Armory.
