Grow Operations Lead to Arrest For Lancaster Man

(KAIR)--A search for a man suspected of theft leads to the arrest of another man on drug charges.

According to a report from the Atchison County Sheriff’s office, deputies received information that the theft suspect was staying at 105 Kansas Street in Lancaster.

On Tuesday afternoon around 2:15 the residence, belonging to 44-year-old John Shufflebarger, was searched, with his permission.

That search led to the discovery of a marijuana grow operation in a closet. Shufflebarger also revealed to deputies a wooden box containing what is believed to be methamphetamine.

Shufflebarger was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, cultivation of a controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia. 

He was taken to the Atchison County Jail.
