Seneca Budget Keeps Levy Same
07/25/2016

(KMZA)--The proposed 2017 budget for the city of Seneca keeps the property tax levy at about the same level as its been for 5 years.

The City Council approved the proposed $11 million budget for publication Wednesday evening.

The budget contains an estimated tax levy of 32.338, which is to raise about $713,000.

City Administrator Matt Rehder says they were able maintain the property tax levy due to about a 6 ½ percent in the city’s assessed valuation.  He said a mill will raise over $22,000.

Rehder says no major projects are planned for 2017.

The Council will consider adoption of the budget following a public hearing at their August 15th meeting.
