(KNZA)--A jury trial has been set for a Wathena man facing a charge of aggravated battery in connection with an altercation in April that left the victim needing surgery for facial injuries.
37-year-old Ryan Smith pleaded not guilty last week in Doniphan County District Court to the felony charge.
A jury trial was set for November 15-16.
Smith was arrested April 17th after a Doniphan County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a farm about five miles north of Wathena near 220th and St. Columbus Roads.
He’s accused of attacking J.T. Euler while he was in the cab of a tractor at the location planting corn after confronting Euler about who had permission to hunt on the property.
