(KLZA)-- The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is accepting new offers to participate in CRP under a general signup until February, 26, 2016. Farmers and ranchers interested in removing sensitive land from agricultural production and planting grasses or trees to reduce soil erosion, improve water quality and restore wildlife habitat are encouraged to enroll.
A CRP Informational Meeting for the public will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. at Personal Care, Inc in Falls City. Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever have organized these meetings around Nebraska. Richardson County FSA will be presenting information on program requirements, soil rental rates, how to increase your EBI score, and other program information.
