(KLZA)-- Jerry Graham was unable to meet with the Pawnee City Council Monday night so discussion on the burned downtown Pawnee City buildings he is responsible for cleaning up was tabled. The next meeting of the Council is January 11.
Discussion on removing the fire escape from the alley behind Haughton’s Beauty Shop and Subway was also tabled. The fire escape is no longer in use and it’s removal would open the alley up allowing larger equipment to get in the alley.
City Foreman Clint Johnson updated the Council on various duties in the City. Jeff Spier will serve as Head of the Water Department and Matt Kuhlman will be the Head of the Sewer Department with the retirement of Stephen Henninger.
A retirement part for Henninger is scheduled for 2-4 p-m on Friday, January 8th at City Hall. The public is invited to attend.
Johnson also noted that repairs to windows broken out at the swimming pool will be made in the spring and that the new loader has arrived and was used for snow removal.
A meeting is scheduled for January 21st with Hanna-Keelan to go over the results of the surveys received back concerning updates to the Comprehensive Plan and Housing Study for Pawnee City.
Councilman Hatfield is also going to speak to the owner of a dump truck using an alley.
