Bond Increased for Shooting Suspect

(MSC News)---Bond for a St. Joseph man charged in the shooting death of another St. Joseph man has been increased.

During an arraignment Tuesday in a Buchanan County courtroom, the St. Joseph News Press reports a judge raised the bond for 36-year-old Scott Hollandsworth from $50,000 to $100,000 at the request of the prosecution.

Hollandsworth is charged with involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action in connection with the death of 33-year-old Shawn Martin.

Martin’s body was discovered December 7th when police were called to a residence in the 15-hundred block of Felix Street.

According to court documents, Hollandsworth got into a verbal argument with Martin.  He allegedly hit Martin in the head with an object and then fired at least one shot.

Hollandsworth turned himself into police two days later.

The next court hearing in the case is set for January 8th.
