(KAIR)--Although the cold winter weather might say otherwise, thoughts turn to summer, July 15th to be exact, the date of Lakefest 2016.
The headliner for Atchison's annual country music concert has now been announced. “Really, really excited to bring Tyler Farr to Atchison,” Amelia Earhart Festival Coordinator Jacque Pregont tells MSC News. She says while tickets don't officially go on sale for five months, there is a way to order in advance, and surprise the country music lover, and Tyler Farr fan in your life, for Christmas. “What we do, because tickets don't actually go on sale until May 1st, we make gift certificates. Those gift certificates are $25, the price of an advance ticket, and you can buy the gift certificate, use it as a stocking stuffer and then they can come in anytime after the first of May and exchange that and get their ticket.”
Pregont says Farr is just the start of the Lakefest line-up, with additional acts being finalized for the concert. “I have offers pending. I'm just waiting for Nashville to call and say “ok” and then we'll be excited to announce the others.”
Lakefest is held annually at Atchison's Warnock Lake, serving as the kick-off for Atchison's Amelia Earhart Festival, held each July in honor of the famed aviatrix who called Atchison her hometown.
The two day festival, including Lakefest, is planned for July 15th and 16th, 2016, as the event marks its 20th anniversary.
