Plea Entered In Atchison Assault Case

(KAIR)--An Atchison man, accused of assaulting police and EMS personnel, has entered a plea in the case.

66-year-old Joseph Blasi appeared in Atchison County District Court last week, where he plead guilty to one misdemeanor count of battery on a law enforcement officer and one misdemeanor count of battery. 

Sentencing has been set for January 8th.

Blasi was arrested in July after falling down in an alley on Commercial Street. He allegedly engaged in a confrontation with EMS personnel and police officers who were called in to assist. He was transferred to the Atchison Hospital for treatment, where he allegedly continued the confrontation with police and medical personnel.
