The Kansas Cattlemen's Association (KCA) will hold its annual convention and trade show November 21,2015 at the Western State Bank Expo Center in Dodge City. There will be numerous presentations and demonstrations throughout the day, and all are encouraged to attend.
The convention will start off with registration and a free pancake feed beginning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning. The trade show will open at 8 a.m. with the first of the presentations beginning thereafter at 8:30 a.m. The convention will conclude with a social, benefit auction, and banquet that evening.
KCA invites everyone to this free and open to the public event. Upgraded packages are available, which include luncheon and banquet meals as well as a KCA gift. Students and members of the press, with proper identification, are welcome to attend the informational sessions free of charge and will be provided a discount for the meals.

7:30 a.m. Breakfast with the Board of Directors will include free pancakes and Schmacon, a cured beef product commonly known as "beef's answer to bacon".
8:30 a.m. "Breeding Stock Risk Management," presented by Lance Sharp of Copeland Insurance, discusses ways of insuring against loss of breeding stock in cow/calf operations. Sponsored by Ruma-Lic Liquid Feed.
9:00 a.m. "US Economy, New World Development Paradigm...Or Bust," a presentation with Bob Baker of the Executive Intelligence Review, reveals the dependence of derivatives effect on U.S. economic viability.
9:30 a.m. "Agriculture Today," discovers the USDA's perspective of where agriculturalists will be taking the industry in the following twelve months, presented by Richard Hruska of USDA. Sponsored by Elanco Animal Health.
10:30 a.m. "Competition in the Cattle Industry, "explores industry issues with regard to competition by industry experts. Panelists include: Barbara Patterson, National Farmers Union; Jess Peterson, United States Cattlemen's Association; and Perry Owens, Ottawa County Feeders. Sponsored by McPherson County Feeders.
1:15 p.m. Low-Stress Cattle Handling," reviews proper cattle handling techniques via a live cattle demonstration, presented by Dr. Tom Noffsinger of Production Animal Consultation. Sponsored by Bayer Animal Health.
2:15 p.m. "Climate: Then, Now, and Tomorrow," summarizes weather patterns we have seen, are currently experiencing, and what may possibly lay ahead. Presented by Jeff Hutton of the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration. Sponsored by Foote Cattle Company.
3:20 p.m. "Schwieterman Market Update" with Domenic Varricchio, takes an in-depth look at the 2015 cattle market trends and forecasts for the future. Sponsored by Schwieterman, Inc.
4:00 p.m. "Equipment: Buying & Selling Online" explores the online world of buying and selling equipment via online auctions, presented by Aaron Schilde of Big Iron.
