Local Stores Among Those Pulling Recalled Beef
(MSC News)--Grocery stores in Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska have pulled some beef from their shelves following a nationwide recall.
According to a news release from the USDA, Omaha-based meat manufacturing firm All American Meats has recalled more than 167,000 pounds of ground beef that could potentially be contaminated with E. coli, which can cause illness or death.
The recall was initially announced last week.
The Omaha World-Herald reports the CDC has not listed any E. coli illnesses arising from the meat.
The Associated Press reports that more than 100 retailers in 20 states are on the USDA's list of locations that had carried the product.
Among the stores are some in the local area.
