(KNZA)--Growing their own food.
That's what Horton Elementary School students will soon be doing, following School Board support granted to the effort.
That happened Monday after Elementary Principal Judy Dickman brought the idea of a school garden, or orchard, before the Board of Education during the Board's regular meeting.
The project would include the installation of grow boxes where students would plant a variety of seeds, including blueberries and blackberries. Their work would be overseen, and assisted, by the Horton High School Vo-Ag teacher, and his students.
Following Dickman's presentation, the Board of Education voted unanimously to support the project, which will begin in the near future.
