New Seneca Police Chief Hired
11/05/2015

(KMZA)--A new Seneca Police Chief has been hired and he’s a familiar face.

Following an executive session Wednesday evening, the City Council voted unanimously to hire Jordan Weaver for the position on the recommendation of the Council’s personnel committee.

Weaver has been an officer with the department since June 2010, and has been serving as interim chief since late September.

Weaver lives in Bern, but will be moving to Seneca soon.

He was among four candidates interviewed by the personnel committee from among seven applicants.

Weaver replaces Brent Schulte who resigned September 25th to take a job as an investigator with the Kansas Lottery after serving as police chief for nine years.
