(KNZA)--Repairs have been made to the building housing the Elwood Leisure Hour Senior Citizens Center.
Doniphan County Aging Department Administrator Joi Davies told the County Commission this week that the senior citizens center would be moving back into the former Lincoln School building following repairs by Riverside USD 114, which owns the building.
The senior citizens center was temporarily relocated to the Elwood Fire Station in September after the collapse of a portion of the ceiling at the building.
In a related matter, Davies presented the Commission with the annual $1 lease agreement between the county and city of Troy for use of the Pioneer Center building as a senior citizens site. The Commission voted to enter into the lease agreement.
The Commission also approved the purchase of replacement ceiling tiles for the Pioneer Center building.
