FDIC Vice-Chairman To Speak At Benedictine

 (KAIR)--Benedictine College has announced that Thomas Hoenig, Vice-Chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and former President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, will speak at a special community presentation held at the college. 

Hoenig, a 1968 graduate of Benedictine, was confirmed by the Senate as Vice-Chairman of the FDIC in 2012. He joined the organization as a member of the Board of Directors for a six year term, and he is also a member of the executive board of the International Association of Deposit Insurers. He was with the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City for thirty-eight years, with twenty as President of the organization. 

He has been profiled in publications such as Time magazine, Bloomberg Businessweek, USA Today, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.

The presentation will be held  Monday evening at 7:30 in the McAllister board room, on the fourth floor of the Ferrell Academic Center on the Benedictine campus. The event is free and open to the public.
