(KNZA)--No injuries despite damage to a Mayetta home following a Tuesday morning fire.
The Holton Recorder reports it happened around 7:30, at the home of Mike Cochran, located at 307 East Jones Street in Mayetta.
Holton Fire Chief Todd Stauffer told the newspaper Cochran was inside when the fire began, but apparently made it out safely.
The fire damage was reportedly contained to the front room and attic of the home, but water and smoke caused extensive damage throughout.
The cause of the fire is not yet specified, and the State Fire Marshall's Office is continuing the investigation.
Jackson County EMS, the fire departments of Mayetta, Prairie Band Potawatomi, and Hoyt, along with the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, all provided assistance at the scene.
