Alleged Credit Card Theft Leads To Arrest
10/27/2015

(KAIR)--An Atchison woman, who allegedly took a credit card from the home of an acquaintance, is facing theft related charges.

Police Chief Mike Wilson says the arrest follows an investigation that began after the card was reported stolen by the 32-year old victim on  October 2nd: “That investigation revealed that a 22-year-old female had taken that debit card, and subsequently used it at a number of places, which included an Atchison business.”

Takiya Bennett was arrested Monday on an Atchison County District Court warrant charging her with theft, computer crime, and criminal use of a financial card.

Wilson says investigators believe the card was also used at a business in Missouri and online in addition to the business in Atchison, totaling charges of about  $345.
