(KNZA)--Despite extensive searches, both on the ground, and from above, a 70-year-old Mayetta-area woman remains missing, nearly one month since she disappeared.
Joan Rebar was last seen September 25th at the VFW in Meriden.
Five days later, a Silver Alert was issued, with Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse asking area residents to remain on the look out for Rebar, or her silver Chrysler Pacifica.
Morse believes it's likely that after her time in Meriden, she was traveling to her home on the Prairie Band Potawatomi Reservation, and has asked property owners in all nearby locations where she may have traveled to check their land in case Rebar drove off the roadway.
WIBW reports that Mike Raymond, of Platte City, Missouri's NorthLand Sky-Cam used a camera equipped aerial drone to search four Jackson County areas difficult to access on Wednesday. Nothing related to the disappearance of Rebar was found.
Volunteers have, since the issuance of the Silver Alert, searched numerous locations, hoping to find some clue that could help lead to the whereabouts of Rebar; and, despite no success so far, the searches are continuing.
Rebar is described as Native American, standing 5'6” weighing 230 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair. She drives a silver 2005 Chrysler Pacifica with a Kansas disabled license plate of 71664.
A photo of Rebar, and her vehicle, are posted on our website, mscnews.net.
Anyone with information related to the case should call authorities at 785-966-3024 or 785-364-2251.
