(KNZA)--A Highland teen was seriously injured Sunday evening in a single-vehicle roll-over crash on a Doniphan County road about one mile west of Highland.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 18-year-old Hunter Idol was eastbound on 240th Road, just west of Casselton Road, when his pickup truck drifted off onto the right shoulder and struck a guardrail. The vehicle rolled multiple times down an embankment before coming to rest in a field.
Idol, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph with what the Patrol described as disabling injuries.
Idol is a senior at Doniphan West High School.
The wreck, which is believed to have occurred shortly after 8:00, was not discovered until around midnight.
A Go Fund Me account has been set up to help the family of Idol financially.
